The biggest in Poland.

Did you know that in Poznań there is the biggest indoor Christmas crib in Poland? You can see it in the Franciscan Seraphic Fathers Church. It takes up the whole presbytery and, honestly, it's stunning! Few elements are moving and it truly looks impressive. Can you imagine that it takes one month to build it? If you find some spare time, don't hesitate to visit it, because the picture doesn't show its beauty.Depth: 18 meters

Christmas is knocking at our doors.

There is only one chocolate left in my Advent calendar. It was so nice to have something sweet for each day of December! It reminded me of my childhood, when on St. Nicolas Day I used to receive the Advent Calendar. This year I got it from my Fiancé :)

So, it’s high time to sing a Christmas song, or tell a poem, if you want. That’s me doing so at the age of three. I was a talented girl who loved singing and telling poems in front of relatives. And my parents could show off ;) I really like my dress – my Grandmother made it for me (she is a dressmaker). Look at my hairstyle! I perfectly remember when I went to hairdresser’s, with my Mum, and asked for a fringe. Having a fantastic fringe, I came back home and asked my Grandfather if he like it, and he didn’t say nothing pleasant! You can imagine how disappointed I felt!

Probably, this is why four years later I did not have my fringe ;) That’s a photo with Santa Claus of whom I was never scared. But I was always unhappy that my father is not at home when Santa comes. After the Christmas Eve supper he went outside to look for Santa Claus, and because of the fact that we had quite a big garden and a field near our house, it took him a lot of time. And he somehow missed Santa… But then, I remember one year (when I’ve already suspected my parents of buying presents) when everyone was at home, waiting for “Santa” to come and suddenly, a bell rang and… Santa came! I was shocked! It was the only time when I was slightly scared and embarrassed sitting on Santa’s knee.

I wish you many pleasant surprises during this year’s Christmas. Enjoy your time with your families! Create a special atmosphere, which, I believe, is the most important. For me, John Lennon’s “War is over” means: stop all quarrels, be kind, smile at each other! Merry Christmas everyone!

As we had St. Nicolas Day yesterday, it is the right time to start thinking about Christmas, I believe. Staying in the subject of music, I have to mention Radio "Trójka", to which I'm addicted. It provides me with great music and valuable pieces of information. There is always something interesting on, so I encourage you to listen to it. My experience with "Trójka" started with "Siesta" (Sunday 3 pm) where Marcin Kydryński plays very different kinds of music which definitely enables the listener to chill out. Each year Trójka's presenters record a song about polish traditional carp. It is both witty and clever. Enjoy the one from year 2006 and have pleasant Christmas preparations :)

Favourite tunes

The kind of music I like depends on my mood and the thing I'm doing while listening to it. When I tidy, I love listening to Pidżama Porno - it speeds me up :); while calming down, I have either some classical music or Grzegorz Turnau's pieces on; for boosting my energy, melodious pop songs are the best; I study listening to soothing jazz melodies. When I'm in a right mood (especially after Sunday's Mass), I listen to religious songs and can't resist singing :) What's more, I like polish rock music - that's a fascination from the high school times - e.g. Perfect and Lady Pank. Oh, I haven't mentioned Grzegorz Turnau and Michael Buble - good for everything :) And cha-cha, of course - I love dancing it with my Fiance!

The band I would like to share with you is Goo Goo Dolls. I highly recommend them! In my opinion, their music is moving and it fills the listener with hope. My best friend has shown them to me and especially the song "Iris" will always remind me of her.
